Affiliated with Trakya University, this unique museum stands as a testament to the rich legacy of medicine and health throughout history, particularly during the Ottoman era.
About the Museum
The Edirne Health Museum finds its home in the renovated darüşşifa (hospital) and tip medresesi (medical school) within the Complex of Sultan Bayezid II. Initially incorporated into Trakya University in 1993, the site underwent a transformative journey, evolving into a distinguished hospital museum in 1997. Dedicated to preserving the heritage of medicine, the museum has continually developed and expanded its exhibits, making it Turkey’s sole institution of its kind.

This institution played a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of medical services during the Ottoman era.
