Located on the peaceful slopes of Mount Koressos, just 10 kilometers from the ancient city of Ephesus, the House of the Virgin Mary (Meryem Ana Evi) is one of Turkey’s most sacred pilgrimage destinations.
It is believed that Mary, the mother of Jesus, spent her final years in this tranquil stone house, far from the bustling cities.

The site gained worldwide recognition following the 19th-century visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich. Since then, the Catholic Church has officially recognized it as a place of pilgrimage, and it has been visited by several Popes, including Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul II.

Today, the preserved stone house serves as a small chapel where visitors can light candles, pray, and leave messages. Nearby, sacred fountains believed to offer healing waters add to the site’s spiritual atmosphere.
