About Finike
Finike is a quiet Mediterranean district located in western Antalya, where fertile plains meet a calm and unspoiled coastline. Historically famous for its oranges—considered among the finest in Türkiye—Finike has long been shaped by agriculture, maritime trade, and its strategic position along the ancient Lycian coast.
In antiquity, the area served as the harbor settlement of nearby Limyra, one of Lycia’s important urban centers. Remnants of this past still surround Finike, with rock-cut tombs, ancient roads, and ruins scattered across the countryside. Roman, Byzantine, and later Ottoman influences layered the region with a deep yet understated historical presence.
Modern Finike remains refreshingly authentic. Unlike the high-density resort areas of eastern Antalya, life here follows a slower rhythm. The marina, local fish restaurants, and small beaches define the town’s social heart, while orange groves and greenhouses stretch inland. The Taurus Mountains rise dramatically behind the town, creating a striking natural backdrop that frames everyday life.
Finike is not a place of spectacle but of balance. Morning fishermen, afternoon breezes along the waterfront, and evenings spent in modest seaside cafés give the district a lived-in character. For travelers seeking a genuine Mediterranean town rather than a resort complex, Finike offers a grounded and quietly memorable experience.
How to Get There
Finike is located approximately 110 km southwest of Antalya city center.

By car, the D400 coastal road offers a scenic route, passing through beaches, cliffs, and small coastal settlements.
