Eminonu was established at the entrance of the Golden Horn, in the coastal area. Its commercial life is active, and it is one of the centers where is Istanbul citizens’ popular destination. There are fish restaurants and cafes under Galata Bridge, which connects Karaköy and Eminonu. Tahtakale and Mercan neighborhoods, starting from Spice Bazaar to Grand Bazaar, are Istanbul’s busiest and economical shopping neighborhoods. Various products such as spices, various plants and seeds, dried nuts and delicatessen can be found in Spice bazaar and shops around it. Shops on Mahmutpasa Hill extending to Grand Bazaar sell mainly cheap textile products.
