Ancient Legends, Caretta Carettas, and Crystal Clear Waters Await You
Nestled between the Aegean and the Mediterranean, Dalyan is one of Türkiye’s most enchanting coastal towns. Famous for its meandering river, ancient Lycian rock tombs, and lush natural surroundings, Dalyan offers an unforgettable experience for those who crave both adventure and serenity.
One of the region’s crown jewels is Iztuzu Beach, also known as Turtle Beach. Stretching for 4.5 kilometers, this pristine sandy shore is a protected breeding ground for endangered Caretta Caretta sea turtles. Walking along the soft sands at sunset, you might feel like you’ve stepped into a living painting — the horizon awash with gold, the air filled with the scent of salt and pine.
Beyond the beach, Dalyan invites you to explore its mystical side. Glide through the labyrinth of reed-lined waterways by boat, past ancient tombs carved into dramatic cliffs. A short trip upriver leads you to the ruins of Kaunos, a once-thriving Carian city where crumbling theaters and forgotten temples whisper stories of civilizations past.
Dalyan isn’t just a destination; it’s a feeling. It’s the lazy afternoon spent sipping fresh pomegranate juice at a riverside café. It’s the excitement of spotting a turtle’s tiny head bobbing above the water. It’s the peaceful silence when you float down the river, surrounded by nothing but nature.
Whether you seek ancient mysteries, wildlife encounters, or pure relaxation, Dalyan and Iztuzu Beach promise an authentic, unforgettable journey through Türkiye’s southern wonders.
