SOUTHEAST ANATOLIA REGION

It is the smallest geographical area of Turkey, and neighbor to Syria in the east. North of the regions is surrounded by Southeast Taurus Mountains. Summers are very hot and dry. Drought-resistant products such wheat, barley, lentils and lentils are grown because of the climatic conditions. GAP Project (Southeast Anatolia Project) is implemented in order to use Euphrates and Tigris rivers which carry rich water resources.

Different variety of products is grown in Gaziantep regions for having the Mediterranean climate impact. Grapes, olives and pistachio production are developed in here.

The oil extracted from Mount Raman is the most important underground prosperity of the region. The bulk of Turkey’s oil is extracted from this region
