Serapis Temple is the most impressive work belonging to ancient times in Bergama Town. It was a temple built in name of Serapis, one of the Egyptian gods, in Roman Emperor Hadrian period (117-138 A.D.). It was changed during the Byzantine period and converted to a church dedicated to John. There are 19 meters high two round towers rising in both sides of the temple.
