Hidden in the pine-covered hills just outside Şirince, Nesin Mathematics Village (Nesin Matematik Köyü) is a magical place where education, philosophy, and natural beauty come together. Founded in 2007 by renowned mathematician Ali Nesin, the village provides a unique environment for students, researchers, and lifelong learners to immerse themselves in mathematics — free from the distractions of city life.
The village’s charming stone-and-wood architecture blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. Here, classes are often held outdoors under olive trees, in open-air amphitheaters, or inside cozy, rustic buildings.
Nesin Mathematics Village hosts various workshops, summer schools, and academic events year-round, attracting not only university students but also curious high schoolers and adult learners from around the world. The philosophy is simple yet profound: learning for the sake of learning, fueled by passion rather than pressure.
