Grand Theater, one of the well-protected buildings in Ephesus is seen in the north of Marble Street. Ruins of the theater, which was in here in the Hellenistic period and still can be seen today, were started to be built in Emperor Claudius (41-54 A.D.) period and took its final phase in Emperor Trajan (98-117 A.D.) period. Seat of this giant structure with 24.000 seat capacity almost reached 18 meters. St. Paul who was wandering city from city to spread Christianity preached in here.
