Preserving history and culture.
This minaret rising as a monument in the city center is the symbol of Antalya. It is the minaret of the mosque that Seljuk Sultan Alaaddin Keykubad (1219-1238) converted from a church. 38 meters high minaret on a stone base with a square plan, was built from red bricks decorated with turquoise tiles. It got its name from thick flutes brisk its body.
The mosque in size of 9 meters to 15 meters next to it is dated rather later. Structure built by Mubarizeddin Mehmed, governor of Hamid Dynasty, is covered by six domes in two rows carried by twelve columns.
