99% of the population in Turkey is Muslim. A lesser rate of 02% of the total population is non-Muslim. These are people from Gregorian Armenians, Jews, Assyrians, Rum Orthodox and people from various other religions and cults such as Catholic, Arab Orthodox and Chaldean. Religion and state affairs are separated for Turkey being a secular country. Religious belief or disbelief, freedom of applying or not applying the religious rules as an individual is protected by the Constitution.

 Islam or Islamic Religion

Islam is the last of the monotheistic religions with a holy book. Its prophet is Muhammad and holy book is the Quran. It is believed that the Quran was created from revelations brought to the prophet by Gabriel.

It is essential for believers to do every worship and actions that are a religious duty (requirement) as it is ordered in Islam religion. These main requirements are: to attest, to prayer, fasting, to give alms,to go to Hajj.Prayer is a whole of worship that is done in certain times of each day all together in the mosque or alone.

Prayer times are as follows:

1.Sunrise Prayer it is prayed in time between the start of dawn and rise of the sun.

2.Noon Prayer it is prayed in time between the sun at the top and shadow of one’s gets as double. 

3. Afternoon Prayer it is prayed in time between the end of afternoon prayer and sunset.
4. Sunset Prayer it is prayed in time between the sunset and disappearance of redness where the sun ets.
5. Night Prayer it is prayed in tie between the ends of sunset prayer till Morning Prayer.

Friday Prayer: it is prayed in time of noon prayer in mosque all together.

Call to prayer: the call to tell people the time of prayer in Islam religion. It is recited in all mosques.
